Momiji are message dolls, each doll has a space in its base for a tiny secret message.
The first dolls were created in 2006 and there are currently 47 in existence with many more in the pipeline.
Designs range from uber-kawaii to harajuku-kitsch.
Last year Momiji stumbled upon the talents of Joanna Zhou via Don't Panic and commissioned her to create her own set of dolls. Joanna's manga flair resulted in a collection that oozed Tokyo-cool and has graced the pages of Dazed and Confused, Elle Decoration, Computer Arts and Design Week.
Message dolls This year we're looking for another designer to dream up a collection of limited edition dolls which will be exclusively available in Selfridges this Christmas.
As one of the most famous names on the British high street Selfridges has become a by-word for refreshing design and cutting-edge promotions. A limited edition of 200 of each of the 3 winning dolls will be sold at Selfridges and will make their way to new homes in those iconic yellow bags..
